Tokyo! Branding
Overview
Growing up my grandad always raved about Japanese cars from there most family cars while I was growing up were Japanese. Then, of course, there are the hugely popular films “Fast and furious,” films which the 9-year-old in me always loved.
After myself and hand full of my close friends started getting Japanese cars I promised the group a logo so that we could go to shows together as a group with a stand as all the trimmings.
One of the would-be members and one of my closest friends Haydn Allman died in an accident. For the longest time, I struggled to even look at cars but as time passed and I realised he would not approve of my new view.
Near his one year anniversary, I decided to revive the project & would be made to honour my friend Haydn. I decided to call the car club Tokyo! There are 2 references to Haydn in the logo. The dot under the exclamation mark is a rotary triangle which is the icon used to depict rotary engines like in his RX8. Under the Tokyo part, there is the words Japanese car club followed by some Japanese characters which mean “gaaa” (the sound used in car manga to represent car noise) and some more Japanese characters that have been modified to look like the number 39, which was we considered his number.
There is a Tokyo! Instagram & Facebook. Which myself and my friends in Tokyo! group run.
